Starfire Herd is a member of the Guidiville Indian Rancheria from Ukiah, California. Starfire is currently enrolled in the dual nursing program with Glendale Community College and Arizona State University College of Nursing.  Starfire comes from a small tribal community where very few people attend college. “I am a proud Pomo descendent, and upon graduation and licensure as a Registered Nurse, I intend on returning home to help serve my tribal community in an attempt to bridge the gap of healthcare inequality that native peoples currently face”

Jordan Jones is a member of the Navajo Nation.  She is committed to becoming an advocate for the ongoing health issues in Native American communities.  “I am from a small town here in Arizona called Williams. I come from a single hardworking mother who has believed in my success throughout my life. I only have one brother who started working immediately after graduating high school, so I am the first in my family to go to college for a bachelor’s degree in nursing. I’m currently in my second year at Grand Canyon University. “
